About the Placement Sub-Council

The Placement Sub-Council of IISER Berhampur is a student body responsible for facilitating the placement process for the graduating students of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Berhampur. The council consists of student volunteers from various departments, led by batch representatives and headed by SC- DC .

Responsibilities

Inviting companies for campus recruitment.
Coordinating with companies for pre-placement talks, written tests, and interviews.
Collecting and sharing student resumes and credentials with companies.
Organizing training sessions and workshops for students to enhance their employability skills.
Maintaining a database of student placements and alumni connections.
Communicating placement opportunities and updates to students.
Providing support and guidance to students during the placement process.

Work

The Placement Sub-Council begins its work several months before the placement season, typically in the summer semester.
They reach out to companies and research institutions to invite them for campus recruitment.
The council coordinates logistics, such as infrastructure and hospitality, for company visits.
They also conduct mock interviews and resume-building workshops to prepare students for the placement process.
The council maintains a strong network with alumni and industry professionals to explore placement opportunities.
Throughout the placement season, the council provides regular updates and support to students, ensuring a smooth and successful placement process.
